Students of the Month

Walker was named student of the month for the second time this year.  This time for February by his trig/analytic geometry teacher, Mr. Igar.  Laine, for the 3rd year in a row, has been selected student of the month in February for patriotism.

Both Walker and Garrett finished the first semester with straight A's and both earned a 100% on the AP World History Mid-Term.  Hard Work Pays OFF !!

Laine for her 2nd 9 week period earned 3 A's and 2 high B's.  She was disappointed with her B's but gave herself something to strive for next time.  She continues to work really hard and take her school work seriously, we couldn't ask for more.  

Orange Crush Soccer Tournament

A great Orange Crush weekend, 2 games Saturday and 1 game Sunday.  

The girls came in third and played well throughout just came up a little short.

Young Elvis

Walker had his first paid acting job.  He played Young Elvis in the Blackwood Brothers and the Gospel side of Elvis show.  A nationally touring group that made a one night special performance at Baystreet.  His part was small and in the beginning and no singing.  He did great.

  At the UHS fall sports banquet Walker received his 

Letter for Varsity Golf and was awarded the Most Improved Player.

Laine's Great Night

She has been playing in a 3v3 league on Friday nights for the past few weeks and her team made it to the finals.  The final game was tied 7-7 so it went into a 3 min. overtime in which no one scored.  So it went to penalty kicks.  The other team missed their first shot and then we missed, the other team scored on their second shot, we scored too, the other team missed  their final shot so it was up to Laine.  Score and they win the whole thing and get the trophy, if she missed more penalty kicks but she made it for the win!!!  She said she was so nervous but it was awesome to make the shot and win for her team.  

After her big win she went to the Mt Dora Brewing Company to sing Don't Stop Believin with her voice coaches band and nailed it.  She had a great night.

UHS varsity boys ended the season 2nd in the District and are 

headed to the District tournament this week.  

Tuesday will be the first game.  Wish them LUCK.

Happy Birthday Mommy

We drove home from Waverly so we could have our traditional "Good Luck" Sauerkraut dinner with my Mom and Dad.  My boys spoiled me with some Georgia boots and a new camp Carhartt jacket.  Laine surprised me with a new charm, it was a heart just like Annie's locket.  It was perfect.

A Date with Daddy

Laine and Daddy had a bowling date the Friday after Annie.  Laine stayed home from school so as to not have the added pressures of her Friday tests when she had such an important night. So Daddy took her bowling, her choice, guess who won??
