EMS Soccer

I do not have a picture but did not want to go without making the big announcement.  Garrett was selected for the EMS soccer team.  We are so proud of him.  They had 3 weeks of tryouts and he got nicknamed "Baby Mustang".  The EMS mascot is a Mustang.  As a 6th grader, the older boys did not know his name so when choosing scrimmage teams he was chosen early because of his speed and got his new name.

He was pretty encouraged at first but then got the news that there would not be a boys team and a girls team but one co-ed team.  This co-ed team had to have 10 girls so obviously the chances of making it for the boys was decreased but Garrett persevered and tried even harder.  He was rewarded for his efforts.  He is one of only 2, 6th grade boys on the team.  We are so proud of our Super G.  The first game is March 30th.  We can't wait.  Pictures of the G in action will follow :)

Beauty and the Beast

Walker, Laine and all the YPT kids had a wonderful SOLD OUT weekend of Beauty and the Beast.  Both kids had great performances and had so much fun.  It was fun to see them develop their characters and give them a little personal touch.  Walker played Gaston and Laine was a villager (with 2 lines of her own) and  she was a pink cup.  Bravo Ford kids Bravo :)

We're Here

Well it'soffiicial we are Umatilla residents.  We packed all last weekend and each evening and all day Wednesday.  Thursday we loaded every vehicle we could find full of stuff including a 26 foot Penske truck.  Friday, Coy and I signed our name a lot while movers moved all of our furniture into and out of another moving truck.  By Friday evening the movers were gone and all the vehicles were empty, the furniture was in but still a Penske truck to unload. So Saturday we unloaded some more.  Needless to say we are all exhausted but we could not have done without the help of some great family and friends.  The true blue are their for you in the good times and the bad and moving diffinitely qualifies as the bad.  Thank you all for your help.  We are now living is a sea of boxes and functioning but one plus, the truck is in the garage ;)

Coy is off to Birmingham for work, the kids are back to school and I am back to work.  We can't get too settled because there are some things we would like to do to the house and we are waiting to see the timing from the GC.  So I think boxes and blank walls may be in our future for a bit but we are happy, healthy and together, that is what is important.  Pictures to follow as soon as I can find the cords ;)

On the Move

Well, it is close to official as it can get, this will be our new home in Umatilla.  It is on beautiful Spring fed East Lake, so no gators :)  The house has a walk out basement which has already been converted to an in-law suite for Papa.  We have some work to do to make it our own but we are very excited.  It has a beach area on the lake so I am sure we will be spending many a hot Florida summer days in the lake and our evenings by the fire pit.  We have moved up the closing and will be moving on March 11th.  Wish us luck, it is going to be crazy but hopefully we will clean stuff out and get orgainzed in the process.

Our new address, if everything goes well, will be
561 Gregory Drive Umatilla, FL 32784

Phantom

We spent a wonderful evening during George Fest in downtown Eustis.  We had dinner at Michael's and saw Phantom at Baystreet Theater with Grandma Sue and Papa Terry.  We got a little dressed up and had a nice night on the town.  Laine was very proud of her shoes :)

Go Garrett

Garrett climbed the climbing wall multiple times at George Fest, barefoot and all :)

George Fest

The city of Eustis celebrates President's Day in a big way.  It is called George Fest and lasts all weekend.  Laine and Walker were in the big parade with Baystreet YPT, their theater company.  Laine is in the blue and white striped shirt, it was hard to get a photo.  They also performed songs from their upcoming show Beauty and the Beast.  Walker is Gaston and Laine is a villager.  Can't wait for opening night.

Saving and Saving

So very proud of Garrett he saved and saved and worked really hard.
He finally saved enough to buy a new iPod Touch.
