Willy Wonka Jr.

A couple preview pictures from this past weekends performance of Willy Wonka Jr.  It was a fantastic show.  Walker was Willy Wonka and Laine was the TV and video game obsessed Mike TeeVee.  This was Laine's first "Big Role" and she handled it like a pro.  All the kids did a great job.

UMS Soccer

2 Years, 2 Teams, 2 Championship Games, 2 Wins ???  Almost 

The Umatilla Tigers came up bit short in the Lake County Championship Game but overall, had a great season.  Unfortunately for Garrett the day of the big game he came down with a virus and had a fever.  

He missed school which meant he could not play 

but he wasn't going to miss being with his team for anything.

"Healthy and I know It"

This year Walker's Senior Tour Group wrote a musical about
eating healthy and getting active (last year it was recycling).
They will perform at local elementary schools in the next few weeks as a public service.

Turbo 3V3

Garrett joined a 3v3 tournament team called Turbo.  It is very different style of game and very fast paced. It was a very hot day and they played a lot of soccer but Garrett had a great time.   There was a steep learning curve for this new team but they got better as the day progressed.  We will look forward to the next one in June. 

Happy 17th Anniversary

 For our 17th anniversary, Coy and I went to Clearwater to spend a day out on the ocean.  We have a friend with a fishing charter so he took us out to all the best spots.  We went as his "employees" so he could sell the fish and we could go for some that weren't in season recreationally.  We caught a bunch of red grouper but none big enough.  We caught a few big Gag Grouper which ended up being about 40 pounds of sellable meat.  Coy also tied into a 6 foot Tiger shark.  We got him close and took a bunch of pictures then cut the line.

We had a nice dinner and Sunday headed home early because our soccer-lovin son was selected for a new team and had his first 3V3 tournament in Orlando on Sunday.  It was a great weekend, we had fun together and ended doing what we enjoy most, being parents :)

NJHS

Both boys have been proud members of National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) this school year.

They have participated in service projects and this day were representing UMS and escorting the upcoming 5th graders around the school.

They have had an awesome season.  

Currently they are 8 and 1 with one game left. 

So it looks as though we are heading to the Championship Game 5/16

It has been a frustrating season for Garrett with not as much playing time as he would like but he is a 7th grader and there are a lot of 8th graders so when he is in, he makes the most of it and last week...

It was awesome, you could not wipe the smile off that boys face :)

He was so Happy and we are so Proud.
