Soccer, Soccer, Soccer

Most of our weekends this fall have been spent on a soccer field.  Between Laine and Garrett we have had many Saturday's with 2 or 3 games and Friday nights too.  Garrett is playing on both a competitive U14 and U17 team.  The U17 was great exposure for him to the size of kids he may encounter in high school.  He did not play every game with them when the games overlapped with the U14 team he played with the U14s.  He started on the U17 team at wing which was great for him to be on the offensive side of the ball because he is usually a great defender.  The U17 season ended in time for high school try-outs.  He is also refereeing 2 games on Friday nights for the younger kids in our AYSO league as well as playing on a U19 rec team.  High School try-outs are next week so I am sure there will be no end to the soccer in our future.  The U14 team continues play into November so if he makes the UHS team he will be playing a lot of soccer.  Walker is also going to try out for the UHS soccer team.
If you have 2 kids playing soccer why not 3 ;)
Laine is playing on her competitive team on Saturdays and for fun the team is playing in a rec league on Friday nights though not the same league as Garrett just to keep things interesting.  It is so fun to watch and see how much this Orange Crush team has grown over the last year.  They work together and pass right down the field.  Laine is now realizing how much she has learned as she is playing with some newer soccer players on Friday nights.  She gets a little frustrated and we reminder her that she was there just a year ago.
