Laine Goes Hunting

So that both boys could hunt Saturday evening, Mom agreed to go sit in a blind with Walker which meant Laine had to go too.  It took a lot of convincing but she finally agreed.  She did fantastic.  She was very quiet for 2 1/2 hours and walked out when it was almost dark.  We did not see any animals except a squirrel.  She says she will go again and had fun, I wonder if she would say the same thing if her brother shot a big hog.

NOT TOO EXCITED TO GO

WAITING ......
NOT TOO BAD

A Fall Trip to Waverly Woods

We snuck away this past weekend for the opening weekend of deer season for the kids.  It was a beautiful weekend for some fun in the pond with a few dogs.  No luck hunting but a great time.

Laine Soccer

A few more pictures of Laine playing soccer.  The girls are having a rough start, playing teams that are older and bigger.  They are improving with each game both as a team and individually.  They are having fun and that is the most important.
Laine was talking about starting her Christmas list and at the top was a pair of fancy soccer cleats.  I asked if she really liked playing soccer and was she going to keep playing?  Her answer was "OHHH YAHHH!!!"   And the Mama  *sighs* as she continues to try and figure out how to fit more hours into the day.

Cross Country

Garrett had his first cross country meet last week.  He did great and finished in the top 20.  He got off to a bit of a rough start.  With so many kids racing "varsity",  he got lost in the crowd but it was so exciting to watch him make up ground and pass runner after runner.
His second meet is today and he is going in with a different strategy.  He wants to break from the crowd and get out early.  He hopes to better his time and his finish with every meet.  UMS was the smallest team there but they all had a great first meet.    GO UMS !!
