Laine's 1st lost tooth or 2

Laine's two bottom teeth were starting to get a little loose. Then, "Grace" tripped, fell and bumped her chin. Once the blood stopped pouring, her teeth were, well...quite a bit looser!
So loose, in fact, they would lay completely flat!

She finally got the nerve to pull one out. You can see how loose the 2nd one was... and soon it came out too!

The Tooth Fairy brought special, silver dollars just like her boys. She was very excited. It might be a bit before we see "big girl" teeth since we rushed them coming out a little. For now she will just have to get used to the hole (it is really fun to watch her eat out of the side of her mouth and she has developed the cutest little lisp).

A few more fun Waverly Pictures

We had a great week as always with a few special things added in. Never know what's gonna happen at Waverly Woods. Thanks for everything Mark and Mandy. We sure love Waverly Woods.

Walker's 1st Deer

Walker got his first deer during our New Year's vacation in Waverly. We heard the shot back at camp and waited and waited...finally, we couldn't take it any more so we headed out on the buck buggy. We found Walker and Daddy with the biggest grins, dancing around in a field. I don't know who's grin was bigger. The deer was a doe and she weighed about 100 lbs. Walker was so excited and Daddy was so proud. Papa Coy was there too. It was great.

The night before Mady got her first buck. Garrett hunted very hard and went out two more times. He almost had one but the shot wasn't perfect. We were very proud of him for being a good, ethical hunter and waiting for the perfect opportunity. He'll get one next time.

Motorcycle Princess

While we were in Waverly over New Year's Laine decided it was time for her to ride the motorcycle. Daddy ran along side for about five minutes and then she was off. Don't worry Daddy put controls on it so it won't go too fast. Laine sure was ready to ride and had a great time but I'm not sure about Daddy :)

Picking Citrus

We went to pick oranges the day before we left for our New Year's vacation trip. This has become an annual event that the whole family looks forward to; THANKS TRISH!

This year the grapefruits had already been harvested so the kids got to climb the trees to get what was left. Thankfully, they harvested early so the fruit did not get ruined by our record-long freeze.

The kids ate more tangerines in the grove than we could count. The more they ate, the stickier they got and the more the dirt stuck! Little Grace, always the lady, never lost her purse and did a great job staying clean! Notice the "5 o-clock shadow" that Laine developed ;)

Christmas Morning with Ruger

Ruger had a great Christmas. It did not last very long but he did have fun. Hopefully when he has his birthday on February 1st he will decide this "chewing thing" is not all it's cracked up to be. (Fingers crossed)

Christmas 2009

We had a wonderful Christmas. Here are a few pictures of the kids before heading to church on Christmas Eve. Coy did a great job with the "exterior illumination" and got more than a few compliments from the neighbors.

Christmas Cookies

The kids did a great job making "peanut blossoms" this year. They had fun together. That was the only cookies we made and it was OK because we were blessed with wonderful "sweet" gifts from our friends and neighbors. We did not get to the traditional cut-out sugar cookies, we just ran out of time. We will make them soon. Christmas cookies in January ??
