Laine the Little Dancer

Today was Laine's first day of dance class. She was very excited and loves her tap shoes. She is taking ballet and tap. Parents are not allowed to watch :( only through a window once a month. Laine was so excited, it was hard to wait outside the door for the other class before her to finish. She can't wait for her next class and asked if she could come back tomorrow.

Garrett the Book Worm

When Garrett started school he was almost finished with Harry Potter 6. He finished that one and started Harry Potter 7. It took Garrett 10 days to read a 750 page book. He loved it.

In school they take computer tests for points based on the books they have read. By the end of 5th grade, Garrett needs to have 70 points. After 3 weeks of school Garrett already has 70 points. He hopes to have a least 200 by the end of 5th grade so he can have his name added to a special plaque. Go Garrett.

Butterfly Garden

This past Saturday we removed a TON of grass and planted a butterfly garden. A local nursery helped us pick the right plants to attract the butterflies. We worked really hard, even Ruger helped, he dug holes.

Now we just water and wait. Hopefully soon, we'll see butterflies.

No more "Can you tie my shoes?"

Laine has been asking most mornings before school for us to show her how to tie. Every time it is the same answer "the mornings are not a good time... ask after school" She finally remembered to ask on Labor day so Daddy showed her a few times and that was it. The next morning she got ready for school and showed us that she had tied her own shoes. Wow! She is a quick learner !

Playalinda Fishing

Coy had heard from a friend that the mullet were running near Playalinda and shore fishing should be great. So Saturday morning of Labor Day weekend at 5am he woke the boys and off they went to see what they could catch. They had a great time and caught a blue fish and 2 lady fish. Playalinda Beach is part of Canaveral National Seashore so they got to see the shuttle launch pad pretty close.
