Soccer Update 2-1

Garrett played 2 home games while Coy and I were away.  LCS won both and Walker took great pictures for us.  This past weekend we drove an hour to play Hunter's Creek.  Unfortunately LCS lost 0-2. The kids played great but just fell short.  Most of our kids are 12 and playing up on a U14 team.  We knew that might catch up with us and it did a little on Saturday.  These boys were a lot bigger.  We were faster but their big size 13 feet kept sticking out making contact with ball :( Garrett is getting lots of playing time and has really improved his ball handling skills.  Garrett is number 13.
It is very fun to watch soccer at this level.

Happy Birthday Zeke

Last Friday Coy and I flew to Denver to surprise our friend Zeke for his 40th birthday.  We arrived at his surprise party just in time for cake.  He had no idea, the look on his face was priceless.  Saturday Coy, Zeke and Bob played golf.  That evening Zeke, Christy, Coy and I had a great dinner at Salt, a restaurant in Boulder.  We stayed with Uncle Bob and I got to meet Cora. She was great and we can't wait to come back to Denver for the wedding next June.  We topped off the weekend with a Bronco game.  We tailgated just like old times and lucky for us a bunch of our old friends had Bronco tickets for that Sunday too.  It was great to see everyone and man, did we eat.  The Broncos even won.  We had a great weekend.

Lake County Soccer

Garrett has been practicing hard with the Lake County Soccer Club Boys U14 team.  They have practice uniforms and everything, very official.  They have 2 uniforms too one for home games and one for away.  He is in the big leagues now ;).  They open their season this weekend with 2 games at home.  Wish LCS Luck.  Go Garrett !!!

Picture used on his player card so that the officials can make sure he is who is on game day.

Listening to Coach Baca
Garrett is so fast and actually loves to run

Pretty Nails

Laine and I had a geat "Girls Day" with Grandma Sue last Sunday, nails and lunch with a little shopping.  Laine had her fingers done this time and wanted to show-off her pretty fingers.  They still look good too and she has not lost one "jewel".  Coy was golfing so Papa took the boys fishing on our lake.  They caught a few but we are all still learning.  We had a great Sunday :)

Getting Ready for Hunting Season

We spent Labor Day weekend in Georgia working on the Waverly Swamp lease.  We planted food crops, sprayed weeds, made trails, hung cameras, checked/readied the camper and hung tree stands, all in preparation for the big hunt.  We have six spots now that the Fords have claimed, we call them; Hot Mama (where Mama sat hunting for the first time), Sassifrass Lane (no explanation necessary), First Blood (where Walker shot is first hog), Pig Pen (Garrett's favorite), Boy Scout and BCT.  We stayed in the Waverly cabin with our friends, so along with the hard and HOT work we had some fun too.

We also came home and processed all the meat from last season.  With the move we just froze it all and waited till we had time to make sausage.  Well we never have time, but before another animal enters this house we had to free up the freezer, so we found time.  Our freezer is now stocked with Italian sausage, Breakfast sausage, deer grind and pork grind.

Now we are ready for hunting season
 GO GET'EM BOYS  !!!

Happy Birthday Landon

I was very fortunate to be able to coordinate a businees trip to Denver around the big celebrations.  I enjoyed the 1st birthday and baptism of a very special little man.
Happy Birthday Landon!!
