Garrett All A's Award

Garrett was honored tonight along with 106 other EES students for making all A's all year. He is pictured with the other 5th graders that made all A's. We are very proud of him and all the kids. EES is a great school! This award is only the beginning of many to come as he will partake 2 weeks from now in a promotion ceremony, promoting all the 5th graders onto middle school. We'll keep you posted. Great job G!

Laine's First Trophy

Laine got her first trophy at her T-ball pool party. She felt pretty special because it even had her name on it :)

Dual Language Fun Day

Laine had a great time at Dual Language Fun Day. The kids played lots of games and had popsicles. They watched a movie too because it is getting too hot to stay outside all day. You'll notice the girls under the slide all trading their "Silly Bandz". They are the new craze. Silly Bandz are shaped rubber bands the kids wear as bracelets and trade. They are really hard to find so if they are not a popular where you are consider sending a pack or 2 to the Ford kids :) They would be ecstatic.

Laine's Last Softball game

Laine played her last T-ball game this week. It was a very long season for little girls. It should have probably ended a few weeks sooner than the rest of ELL. You know they have lost interest when after their 2nd at bat of a game they are asking "How much longer?" and "Who brought snack?"

It is hard enough to keep little girls paying attention but you start to add in the heat now and you feel like a broken record "Girls watch the ball" and "Girls pay attention" Yes I did Coach or as we Mom's call it "crowd control in a pink Angel's shirt" It was a fun season and we'll see if we move on to Coach Pitch next Spring. Good Job Angels !!

Walker NJHS Induction

Walker was inducted into the National Junior Honor Society this past week. He is looking forward to some great service projects next year especially one they call "Pinktober" for breast cancer awareness. We all know Walker's feelings on wearing pink :)

Garrett Tennis

Garrett has been playing tennis for about a year in a weekly clinic. He really enjoys it and has been asked to play in a few local tournaments. Garrett is not completely confident in his tennis and has been hesitant to sign up for the tournaments. He does a great job with his serving and is ready for a tournament but only he knows when it is time to sign up.

Garrett Spring Soccer Green Team

These pictures are a bit late, soccer season has been over for a few weeks but I had trouble getting them off the camera. Garrett was really dominate on his team but could not be all over the field all the time so they really struggled. He had fun and got some good exercise but it is time for some real soccer.

Laine's Dance Recital Preview

Today was picture day for the Dance Recital so here is a preview. Laine will perform one ballet dance and one tap dance. The recital is June 12th. They are very busy practicing. I'm sure it will be a great show, we'll let you all know :)

FAME Awards

Walker participated in the FAME awards tonight for Eustis Middle School students that had a 3.5 GPA or higher. Walker has a 4.0 for his 6th grade year. We are very proud of him. Here he is with his friend Bailey and their awards.

Mermaid Party

Laine was invited to her friend, Amanda Lily's Mermaid birthday party. Amanda-Lily's Grandma made each girl a mermaid tail, head piece and 2 bracelets. They all had a great time, dancing and prancing in their tails :)

Mom and Dad Heading Home

Grandma Sue and Papa Terry always seem to head home to Colorado just when the warm weather comes to Florida and boating season gets into full swing. At least we got one trip through the Dora Canal and a nice lunch at JJ Fins before they left. It was a great day and we'll look forward to doing it again next year :)

Garrett's D.A.R.E. Graduation

Garrett graduated the D.A.R.E. program last week. We are very fortunate that this program is offered to all Lake County 5th grade students to help make them aware and deter them from drug and alcohol abuse. Garrett really enjoyed the program and is sad it is over.

Walker ELL Rangers

Here are a few pictures of Walker playing baseball. This year he is on the Rangers due to re-drafting. The team is doing well and is tied for first place. Walker is playing 3rd base and some shortstop.
