Get to the Manger

The kids had their children's choir performance Wednesday evening at church. They each did a fantastic job. The play was called "Get to the Manger"; a story about a group of kids going to the mall, handing out candy canes and praying with mall employees. Walker was Pastor Neil and Garrett was a mall employee. Laine sang her heart out in the choir. It was great and everyone did a fabulous job spreading the Love of Jesus.

Merry Christmas Hat Day

Today is the last day of school for the kids. To raise funds, the APT collected $2.00 from the kids and for their contribution, they may wear any hat for the day (hats are normally against the rules). Laine chose to wear a Santa Hat. Garrett also elected the Santa hat but left for Safety Patrol before I could get the picture :(

Merry Christmas!!

Gingerbread House

My neighbor Trish had a great, festive idea for a "Ladies Night"; making gingerbread houses. Believe it or not this was my first gingerbread house. It was very fun but as you can see the kids thought it was very tasty too. Trish spoiled us with delicious food and great conversation. I look forward to future "Ladies Nights". Thanks Trish.

Monkey in a Tree

Coy took the boys to a local restaurant to watch the Bronco game while Laine, Kylie and I stayed home. There was a balloon artist at the restaurant so Daddy had a special hat made for Laine, a monkey in a palm tree. The only way the guy would make it for Daddy is if he would wear it? Wish I had a picture of that ;)

Seussical the Musical

The Warren Acting Company's latest performance was Seussical the Musical. Walker played Horton the Elephant and the story line followed loosely the Horton Hears a Who movie with added Dr. Seuss characters like, Cat in the Hat. Walker did a wonderful job playing a very sad elephant. So much so that Laine cried during intermission of his first performance because she was so sad for Horton.

Their next performance will be Grease in March and Laine is going to try it too. Should be fun. More pictures from Seussical can be found at www.warrenactingcompany.org

Student of the Month

Garrett received his award last Friday for the month of November but didn't say anything about it until Monday morning when he was packing his backpack for school "oh by the way, I am student of the month" You think when we asked on Friday how his day was or was there anything new he would have remembered to tell his family about his award. We are very proud of him :)

Light Up Mt Dora

Walker's theater company, The Warren Acting Company, participated in the annual Light Up Mt. Dora celebration. For those of you who have never had the pleasure of visiting this quaint little city, they are known for their art galleries, music, theater, festivals and of course...senior citizens!

The kids had a great time kicking off the Christmas Season and, as you will see, Dominic the Italian Donkey was the hit of the night.

Starring: The Warren Acting Company and our very own Walker Ford

Laine's 1st Dance Recital

Laine's first dance recital was outside in a park as part of the Umatilla Christmas Cracker Festival and Parade. She danced to "Jingle, Jingle, Jingle" and did a great job. She knew all of her steps but forgot to smile. Mommy caught her eye one time and she gave us a quick smile then it was back to business. We all can't wait for the big recital in the Spring.

Garrett Soccer

Garrett is really enjoying soccer. He moved up a level this year so he isn't scoring quite so many goals but has had his fair share. He is fast and all over the field. It can be hard to watch and keep track of where he is. Sometimes so many feet are flying, you don't know who scored the goal until Garrett runs down the field fists in the air. Go Garrett !!

Happy Halloween

What a nerd !

Michael Phelps, 8 Gold medals and all.

Beautiful Belle, Where is The Beast??

Between Mickey's Not so Scary Halloween, Trunk-or-Treat and the neighborhood, the candy mound covered our dining room table.
CRAZY !!!

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween

Sunday we went to Disney World for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party. It was awesome. It was a hot day and we thought wearing a costume for the whole evening would be hard so we decided to go as Bronco fans. Everyone loved the Bronco dress Grandma Sally made Laine and she was called the "Bronco Princess". We went to the Disney Barber Shop and got our festive "Hair-dos" and even a bit of pixie dust. We went with our friends the Simpsons and had the best evening.

Laine got to meet the princesses again but this time it was more special because Ms. Wendy got to meet them for the 1st time ever. Laine thought that was great to introduce Ms. Wendy to the princesses.

The kids had a great time. Laine rode some big kid rides, including Thunder Mountain Railroad, hands up and all. There were trick-or-treat stations set up all over the park. We got lots of candy. I was quoted with the best "Mom Line" of the night. "Eat Candy, Enjoy but Don't throw up" :)

The Bronco Princess almost made it till the end. She missed the Villain Show in front of the Castle at 11:15 pm. She is not too fond of the villains, especially Cruella, so she wasn't too upset. She slept to whole way home.

Birthday Parties

Last Weekend we had 2 birthday parties. The first was a carnival theme for our 2 year old neighbor Grace. There were carnival games, cotton candy and even a face painter.

Then Laine went to her friend Noah's for his 6th Birthday Party. It was a cowboy party.

Once on this Island

This weekend was Walker's performance of Once on This Island. He played Papa Ge, the Demon of Death. He also played Daniel's Father on his off nights filling in for a boy that couldn't commit and do a good job. He wore all white as Daniel's Father trying to imitate a wealthy Caribbean Grande Homme. Walker did great in both roles and was convincing as a strict Father and an evil demon. (Hard to believe our sweet Walker could be so evil). Photos are on the website www.warrenactingcompany.com
