Last weekend the Ford family volunteered at a Make A Difference fishing tournament for handicapped children. The tournament was held at our favorite place, Waverly Woods. This was the 2nd annual tournament at WW, last year they had 16 children participate and this year we had 39. What a day. We went up Friday to help set up and the tournament was on Saturday. I helped with volunteer registrations, Coy was the head fishing guide, the boys were each fishing guides and were assigned to a participant and Laine was in charge of handing out lunch and being a friendly face to all her new friends. It started off as a chilly day but ended just beautifully. The participants each got a donated gift done by random raffle, a goodie bag and awards were given for everything from the biggest fish to the cutest ;) What a wonderful, heartwarming experience that will become an annual event in the Ford household.
