Following in Daddy's Foot Steps

While we were in Waverly, the boys got to sight-in and try out their Christmas present from Mom and Dad, a .243 hunting rifle.  They need to take a hunter safety course before they can actually hunt but they enjoyed target practice.  Both boys got up for the early morning hunts and went out for the evening hunts.  We were fortunate to get both a boar and a deer this trip.  Both boys were with Dad when he got both animals.  The deer went to the butcher and is in the freezer.  The boar is going to be smoked and we just finished making our first round of Italian sausage.  The one picture of Walker is in the tree-stand, one morning before the sun came up.  Laine wanted nothing to do with the animals and would not even look at them, though she has in the past ???  So the picture of her is one around the camp fire while Dad is cleaning the pig.  All the other kids think the cleaning of the animals is the best part and get a great anatomy lesson but not Laine this trip.  Though she tells everyone that when she takes her safety class she can hunt with her Daddy.
