Make A Difference

One of the Ford Family's favorite weekends, Make A Difference in Waverly Woods. This year Coy and I were headed to Puerto Rico and the kids really did not want to miss the fun so Papa Terry stepped up and took the kids to Georgia. Papa got to see why we love Waverly so much and how special the fishing tournament is to our family. We love to volunteer a small part of our day to help these kids have the day of a life time and hopefully catch a few fish. Laine was the photographer and came home with over 250 photos to share. Hope we can all go together next year.

Our Little Cake Diva

Laine is loving cake decorating and getting pretty good at it.  Grandma hired Laine to design and make a cake for Papa Terry's birthday.  Papa loves golf so this is what she came up with.  Papa loved it.  Happy Birthday Papa.

Our working Man

Walker now has 3 part time jobs.  One at D and J Apiary where he does what is needed mostly repairing and cleaning bee boxes.  He referees on Friday nights for a rec. soccer league through LCSC.  He also washes dishes at Quarter Deck.  Gotta work hard when you've got bills to pay :)
He is taking a referee course this weekend to get certified in Florida to referee competitive soccer games.  He will make some good money and maybe not have to do some of the "not so fun" jobs anymore.

After a day at the Apiary.  Got stung a few times but not bad.

Refereeing Rec Soccer

Gator Girl's Soccer Game

Laine had a great time at the Gator Girl's Soccer Game with her team celebrating Elyse's Birthday.  The girls were asked if they wanted to escort the players onto the field and of course they said "YES!!"  Laine escorted a girl from Missouri and got a cool SEC Soccer shirt to keep as a souvenir.  She wanted to be one of the Gator escorts but maybe next time.  The game was televised and the girls got on TV a few times and a good close up of Laine during the National Anthem.
The Orange Crush are famous (in their eyes)

The girls were very excited to see Savannah Jordan.  She is the Gator that gave them the UF tour last year during Gator Showcase.  She remembered them and took a minute to say Hi.  They are hoping to have her as a guide again this year.

UHS Golf

Walker is really enjoying the UHS golf season.  He has dropped 10 strokes off last year (thanks to playing all summer with Papa).  His lowest score this season has been a 43.  The UHS golf team participated in the Lake County Cup, an 18 hole tournament last weekend.  We have struggled a bit this fall due to all the rain and canceled practices/matches.  Hopefully we get to make some of them up.  Daddy is a little jealous of all the golf Walker is playing.  Walker is playing 3-4 times a week and he hasn't picked up a golf club in more than a month.

Coach Ford

Garrett is coaching a U10 rec. team through a
program affiliated with Lake County Soccer.
They won their first game and
Garrett is hopeful for a successful season.
The kids named the team the Karate Kickers so
Go Kickers !!!

New Season, New Team, New Look

Garrett is starting this season with a new club
Association of Christian Youth Sports (ACYS)

Laine is still with Lake County Soccer Club
though the club has changed it's logo and colors.
We are now navy and neon yellow but still Orange Crush !
Go Crush !!

Fund Raising
Who could resist such cute girls??
They raised over $1,000 to help cover tournament fees
Great Job girls !!

The girls started the season with a tournament in Atlanta,
The Publix Atlanta Cup.
Laine and Mommy traveled North while
Dad and Garrett were at a tournament
in Winter Haven closer to home.
The results were not what we had hoped
but they all played some great soccer.

Our friends from Athens drove over to
watch Laine play and go to lunch.
It was great to see them and have their support.
